What Leak Detection & General Repair Services We Provide

A leak that goes unnoticed for even a few days can mean warped floors, damaged drywall, or a mold problem — and the source isn’t always where the water shows up. Aqua Blue handles leak detection and general plumbing repair for residential and commercial properties across Northern New Jersey, using an in-person assessment rather than guesswork. We’re fully licensed and insured to trace a leak back to its source, whether that’s a visible pipe, a slab leak, or a connection hidden behind a wall, and we’ve built our reputation on luxury residential and commercial projects where there’s no room for a callback. Active leaks get priority scheduling during business hours.

That includes leak detection, slab leak repair, general pipe repair, emergency leak response, and the broader plumbing repairs that come with an older home, all performed under NJ Master Plumber License #6942. We serve Paramus, Saddle River, Ho-Ho-Kus, Tenafly, Closter, Franklin Lakes, Englewood Cliffs, and the surrounding Bergen County area. We won’t recommend replacing more than what’s actually failing, and every job gets an in-person look before we quote it.

Local Knowledge

Built for Bergen County’s Older Housing Stock

Bergen County’s housing stock spans everything from pre-war construction to new builds, and older homes in particular tend to hide leaks in galvanized supply lines, aging joints, and original drain configurations. A generalist chasing a visible wet spot can miss the actual source. Aqua Blue serves 6 towns across Bergen County — Saddle River, Ho-Ho-Kus, Tenafly, Closter, Franklin Lakes, and Englewood Cliffs — plus Paramus and the wider Northern NJ region, and every job is backed by our fully insured workmanship guarantee.

Licensed plumbing work by Aqua Blue
Why Aqua Blue

Why a Licensed Plumber — Not a Generalist

Tracing and repairing a leak often means working on the water supply lines that feed an entire home or business — work that, under N.J.A.C. 5:23 (New Jersey Uniform Construction Code), only a licensed plumber can legally perform. A generalist chasing a visible wet spot can miss the actual source and turn a contained leak into real damage. We’ve done this work on luxury custom homes and commercial properties throughout Paramus, Saddle River, and greater Bergen County, where a missed leak means real cost. When a repair requires a permit, Aqua Blue manages that process on your behalf, start to finish.

Pricing, Explained

Cost & Pricing

Leak repair pricing depends on how accessible the leak is, whether it’s a slab leak or a straightforward pipe section, and how much of the surrounding wall or floor needs to be opened. We don’t give blind quotes over the phone; every price is based on an actual look at the leak, so the number we give you is the number you pay. See our Luxury Residential Plumbing guide for typical ranges.

What’s the difference between a visible leak and a slab leak?
A visible leak shows up where the pipe is — under a sink, behind a washing machine, along a wall. A slab leak happens in the water line running under a concrete foundation, and the only sign is often a warm spot on the floor, a spike in your water bill, or the sound of running water with everything off. Slab leaks need specific detection methods to pinpoint the source before any concrete is opened.
Do you repair pipes or replace them?
It depends on the condition of the pipe and how much of it is affected. A single failed section can usually be repaired in place; a line that’s corroded or failing throughout is often better replaced outright, since a repair there is likely to fail again nearby within a year or two. We’ll give you the honest recommendation, not the more expensive one.
Do you need a permit to repair a leak or replace a section of pipe?
It depends on the scope. A straightforward pipe repair usually doesn’t require a permit, but altering supply lines, drains, or gas connections typically does under N.J.A.C. 5:23 (New Jersey Uniform Construction Code), with inspection required in most Bergen County municipalities. We’ll tell you upfront whether your repair needs one, and handle the paperwork if it does.
Is a slow drip an emergency, or can it wait?
A slow, contained drip can usually be scheduled during regular hours, but it’s worth addressing soon — small leaks get worse, not better, and can lead to mold or structural damage over time. An active leak, a burst pipe, or anything causing visible water damage gets priority scheduling and should be called in right away.
How long do supply lines typically last before they start leaking?
It varies by material and age. Original galvanized supply lines in older Bergen County homes can be 40–60 years old and well past their intended service life, while modern copper or PEX lines typically last several decades with proper installation. If your home has original galvanized lines, it’s worth having them assessed even without an active leak.
